At the invitation of the Embassy of Vietnam in Belgium and the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the European Union (EU), a high-level delegation from Quang Ninh Province is conducting a working visit to Belgium from June 4 to June 9, 2025, to bolster investment promotion and bilateral cooperation.

The delegation is led by Mr. Vu Van Dien, Standing Vice Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, accompanied by leaders of relevant departments and representatives from local enterprises.

On the first day of the mission, the delegation held a working session with Ambassador Nguyen Van Thao, Vietnam’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and Head of the Vietnamese Mission to the EU.

During the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman Vu Van Dien provided a comprehensive overview of Quang Ninh’s recent socio-economic milestones. He underscored the province’s strategic commitment to rapid and sustainable development, driven by intensive administrative reforms, investment attraction, and expanded international partnerships.

The Vice Chairman expressed his desire for continued support from the Vietnamese Embassy to facilitate trade, science and technology transfer, and innovation. He specifically highlighted key sectors for potential collaboration with Belgian and EU partners, including logistics, healthcare, and tourism.

In response, Ambassador Nguyen Van Thao commended Quang Ninh’s remarkable progress. He noted that the province’s superior infrastructure, particularly its deep-water seaport system, serves as a competitive advantage for deepening ties with Belgian and EU enterprises in maritime transport and logistics. The Ambassador reaffirmed that the Embassy would act as a vital bridge, fostering connectivity and partnership between Belgian businesses and Quang Ninh in the coming years.

According to the official itinerary, the delegation will participate in various activities hosted by the Embassy and the Mission to the EU, focusing on leveraging overseas Vietnamese resources to support provincial growth. The mission aims to strengthen ties between Quang Ninh and EU localities across trade, investment, and culture.

Furthermore, Quang Ninh will preside over a series of events in Belgium, including trade and investment forums, cultural and tourism promotion showcases, and field studies to exchange expertise in technological innovation and digital transformation.
